Top Ten Dubai Attractions

Dubai is one of the most outlandish and exciting places to visit on the planet – with its dazzling displays of opulence to its outstanding weather and views, you’re never short of something to do.

But what are the must-see attractions in Dubai? After all, most of us only have a limited amount of time there, and we want to make sure we can fit in the very best of what there is to offer! This article contains what we at travelsupermarket.com think are the top ten things to see and do in Dubai; follow this guide and you can’t go far wrong!

Malls – Unsurprisingly, for a place built around wealth, shopping is huge business in Dubai. The Dubai Mall and The Mall of the Emirates are proof of this fact, representing as they do every single major brand in the world. Dubai’s shopping is second to none, and that’s a fact that’s largely thanks to these two malls.

The Restless Planet – Imagine Jurassic Park. Then imagine it being real. That’s pretty much exactly what Restless Planet is; a life-size and stunningly real recreation of life in the days of the dinosaurs. Situated in the “edutainment” city of Arabia, Restless Planet is already a sight to behold even though it isn’t open yet.

Ski Dubai – Skiing probably isn’t top of the things you’d expect to do in Dubai – considering the fact that it doesn’t often below drop below ten degrees Celsius in January, it’s understandable; but when you’re in the vicinity of the world’s largest ski slope, it’s hard not to resist, isn’t it?

Palm Islands – Want a palm tree shaped island? Can’t find one anywhere? Then why not build one? That’s what the Dubai government did, and although only the smallest of the three is finished at time of writing, they are still phenomenal feats of technical engineering and land reclamation.

Burj Khalifa – Formerly known as Burj Dubai, this is a hotel which also happens to be the tallest building in the world, at not too far off 1km tall (828m). The building is one of Dubai’s most popular tourist attractions, and its 160+ floors are a wonder to behold.

Dubai Museum – Believed to be Dubai’s oldest building, Al-Fahidi Fort houses Dubai’s museum, an educational and inspiring glimpse into desert life, showcasing weapons, musical instruments, jewellery and more from the state’s past.

Gold Souk – Dubai’s most famous market. Explore the narrow streets and alleyways, and marvel at the beautiful jewellery in over 300 different shops, one after the other. If you’re after something special for yourself or the one you love, this is the place to come!

Sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum House – This house is one of the most iconic buildings in Dubai. Al-Maktoum was the brains behind Dubai Creek, and this building has been the Al-Maktoum ancestral home for many, many years, witnessing much of Dubai’s great and varied history in the process.

Desert Safari Dubai – Fancy a drive through the dunes? If so, the Dubai Desert Safari is exactly the sort of thing you’d enjoy. From Barbeque joints to Camel Farms, you’ll witness a variety of great sights, all against the backdrop of the stunning desert.

Seawings Dubai – Of course, if air travel is more your idea of excitement, then taking a seaplane tour of Dubai sounds like it’s right up your street. You’ll visit nearly all of the attractions listed in this article, as well as many more before touching elegantly back down on the water.
